24-0317: God is sovereign and worthy of all honor, glory, and praise because He holds life in His hands and gives eternal life in His Name. Daniel is called in for another Babylonian king, Belshazzar, to interpret a writing on the wall. He tells him that he too, like his predecessors, have hardened their spirit to the Most High God and now they will be called to account for their lives. And on that same night the king is killed and the kingdom passed to another. God is sovereign over all things, includes earthly kingdoms, and He rules according to His purpose.
