The Glory of God’s Love in Adoption Romans 8

22-0130: The glory of God’s love in salvation is revealed through adoption whereby we become children of God. Adoption is one of the central metaphors the Bible uses to encompass our salvation in Jesus Christ. Adoption is a most comprehensive metaphor and accurate picture of our salvation in Jesus Christ because orphaned is the reality of our sin, the helpless condemned without hope, cast away from all that identifies and defines, secures, provides for, and, most importantly, loves. Orphaned captures the image of the one lost in sin, who, without a Savior, has no hope for help or love. Adoption emphasizes the relational nature of our salvation. We are not simply justified and spared from our sin’s debt, but brought home to live as children of God. And God gives us His Spirit to testify to our spirit that we are His children. This glorious doctrine provides the foundation of our Christian hope, and the best explanation of God’s love for us in Jesus Christ. In this message, Pastor Lane shares three lessons that adoption continually teaches us. He also shares he and his wife’s testimony of their two adoptions. And, he shares why LifePoint Church is committed to Orphan Care ministry. We pray this message helps and encourages.
