21-0207: Christians live to honor the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ who is Just and justifies by faith all who believe in Him. Genesis 34 begins with a morally deplorable evil and exacerbates to a morally abhorrent devastation, such that one commentator states, “There is ostensibly nothing about chap. 34 that is commendable.” In it a “war of morality” emerges where each person defends honor, in some manner, but of which they are all proven wrong because “There are no heroes in this episode.” And so one is left to ask, “How then do we seek truth and justice for honor?” In this message, Pastor Lane uses three questions to trace the “war of morality” to its inevitable end, and to there find a hope that rises from the moral carnage of defiling honor.
