LifePoint welcomes Brandon and Lindsey Amick

One of the most exciting aspects of my job is to experience God grow his church. Growth happens in a number of ways and cannot be measured by a single factor. I am awed by God at every conversion. I never tire of seeing people get saved. I love to hear testimony of spiritual growth and watch change take place among our people. I love seeing more people come. LifePoint’s first eight years have been exciting with a great amount of numerical growth. We’ve experienced many new people become part of the church. Growth is exciting.

The excitement of growth brings a new measure of responsibility for pastors and leaders. Knowing when to hire is a great challenge of leadership. At LifePoint, we never hire in order to get ministry done. Paid leadership has the distinct responsibility to equip the church to do the ministry. Leaders must be ready and able to equip the body to do the work of ministry. LifePoint is growing our leadership team to equip our people for greater ministry and to expand our mission.

That said, I am happy to introduce you to the newest member of LifePoint’s ministry staff, Brandon Amick and his wife, Lindsey. Brandon will join the LifePoint team in early July as Associate Pastor of StudentLife.

Brandon recently completed a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Raleigh, NC. For the past year he served as an intern with an exciting student ministry at Providence Baptist Church in Raleigh. He also assisted their writing team for disciple-making curriculum. Prior to this he served in student ministry for several years.

Brandon and Lindsey are both native South Carolinians. They have a great heart to see students grow in Christ’s image. Their testimonies share how they each came to faith in Jesus while in high school. Through some exceptional struggles as students they saw God work in powerful ways in both their lives. These experiences taught them to trust in Jesus and they surrendered to serve him. They desire to be used by God to see his power at work in the lives of students.

Brandon and Lindsey were “baptized by fire” as they spent the last week ministering and leading LifePoint students at camp. This week they return to North Carolina to pack and begin the long transition from NC to Ozark, MO.

Brandon will begin his active ministry role by mid-July. He will serve on the pastoral leadership team as an associate pastor. This means that he is not an elder of LifePoint Church. We believe Brandon demonstrates a qualifying character that Scripture teaches an elder must have. We also understand the Scriptures to teach that eldership is to be affirmed among the body. Therefore, the next several years will be focused on getting established in his new role, growing, maturing, and developing in pastoral duties. This allows the church body the opportunity to see his character and competency displayed. As the Lord leads, we will reconsider Brandon as a candidate for eldership at some point in the future.

Brandon is assigned the responsibility to apply and implement the unique vision of LifePoint Church among the students and their families. He will also serve under the discretion of Pastor Lane to minister among the whole church body. A full description of his new role is available on theCity, LifePoint’s membership communication portal.

LifePoint, pray for Brandon and Lindsey. They are in the midst of many life changes. Pray that great joy and praise would be their strength in this time of transition. Welcome them fully with the LifePoint experience. Extend to them gospel hospitality and help them feel a valued part of LifePoint’s fellowship. Pray that God will multiply our mission as we follow him and invest in the invaluable resource of leadership.
