18-1104: Jesus builds His church by grace as He gifts and equips each person to serve and grow to full maturity. Ephesians 4 puts into action what Paul set forth in the first three chapters. In salvation, Jesus apportions grace on each Christian to serve in the church and as the church for the growth and maturity of all. Five specific gifts of grace lead the whole church in growing each person. When the church serves, God builds. When God builds, the church grows and matures.
