The Resurrection and the Life, part 1 John 11:1-27

17-1105: Jesus works with resurrection power for eternal life to all who believe in Him. Jesus’ dear friend Lazarus is sick and his family has called for him to come. But Jesus is focused on the Father’s glory and knows the purpose for this illness that will lead to death. He is intentional to use this opportunity to teach both the disciples and Martha. When he encounters Martha she makes a strong statement of belief, but there remains a sense that something is still lacking. In this moment Jesus reveals himself to Martha for a more real experience of what it means to believe in Him as the Resurrection and the Life. In this message Pastor Lane identifies this moment that we all encounter as a “Void”, the gap between our positional belief and our experiential reality, between one knows to be true in God’s Word and what seems lacking in life. Jesus meets us in these moments of “Void” to reveal a greater truth than mere knowledge or emotional hype. He leads us to a more intimate experience with Him, a new realm of belief where we find that He is our all in all. Four Counsels are provided to help and encourage one to walk through closely to Jesus these seasons of “Void”. May this message help and encourage you.
