Confusion regarding sexuality continues to increase rapidly in our culture. A stark contrast in Proverbs reveals the blessing of God in sexuality versus the damage of sexual sin on a person’s life who practices immorality.

Sexual immorality promises passionate euphoria and delight, but only delivers destruction.
It’s cheap, many countless numbers of people have entertained it and the body count is heaped high along the road to hell, where it leads to death.
“Do not desire her beauty in your heart, and do not let her capture you with her eyelashes; for the the price of a prostitute is only a loaf of bread…All at once he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a stag is caught fast till an arrow pierces its liver; as a bird rushes into a snare; he does not know it will cost him his life…for many a victim has she laid low, and all her slain are a mighty throng. Her house is the way of Sheol, going down to the chambers of death.” Prov 6:25-26a; 7:18, 26-27
What do you long for most, destruction or overflowing glory?
After all the indulgence of immorality, you still hunger for something greater. And to think, you could’ve bought a loaf of bread to satisfy your hunger without the accompanying heart devastation.
Beware sexual immorality; that you don’t devastate your life with guilt, shame and condemnation reaped from false pleasure that is cheap, easy and over-used.
Let your heart be consumed with the hope of the Gospel and your mind renewed by the truth of God’s Word so true joy, pleasure and satisfaction can fill your life to overflowing glory.
