19-1006: “A Legacy of More Jesus” captured the theme of LifePoint Church’s fifteen year celebration of God’s faithfulness this weekend. The celebration included many testimonies, baptisms, pictures, fellowship and a brief challenge by Pastor Lane. (Shared below.) The video includes a life impact testimony from Ethan and Tatum Lippert, an elder testimony from Jon Goings, and wife Andrea, as well as a short update on our Compelled campaign. LifePoint will leave a legacy of more Jesus as we multiply more love and truth in everyday moments of life. We pray this encourages and blesses you as you celebrate with us.
“A Legacy of More Jesus” echoes all God has done among His people at LifePoint. We often think of “legacy” as something really big, and it surely is big! But though a legacy includes big events and moments, it is not built on them. A Legacy is built on what is made most important, a priority for every day. If more Jesus is to be our legacy then every time we gather, in congregational worship and in community, we must center everything on the gospel. A Legacy of more Jesus means that in all we do, in the way we do all we do and the reason we do all we do, the love and truth of Jesus must be THE center of all. LifePoint will leave a legacy of more Jesus as we multiply more love and truth in everyday moments through the gospel.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14) More Jesus is the measure of increasing grace and truth in our life and in our church. We labor to see more grace and truth in our lives, in our families and homes, in our church, in our city and in the world. We labor for more grace and truth so more Jesus can come shining through.
LifePoint will leave a legacy of more Jesus as we focus on two areas.
Focus 1: Lead each Christ-follower to live in God’s love to share His love in the world. We are the Beloved of God, people who live in God’s saving love set on us in Jesus Christ, who live as Worshipers to grow an all-consuming love for God through Jesus Christ in every realm, sphere, relationship, circumstance and situation of life. And because God’s love fills us to overflowing, we live to share His love with all people of the world as Servants of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus commands, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38This is the great and first commandment. 39And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Matt 22:37-40) As Worshipers, we know God’s grace is sufficient for all of life. Therefore, we live as Servants to show the sufficiency of His grace in the way we love others.
Focus 2: Lead each Christ-follower to walk in the truth of God’s gospel and share it with all people. As Jesus’ followers, we are Disciples who are being transformed by the renewing of our minds to live and walk in the glory of His truth. And because Jesus is transforming us, we live as Missioners to share as faithful witness of the glory of God’s truth through the gospel with all people of the world. Jesus commissions us to this end when he states, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. (Matt 28:18-20) As Disciples, we know the glory of God’s truth through the sufficiency of the gospel in all of life. Therefore, we live as Missioners to multiply God’s glory by sharing the gospel for the salvation of all people in the world.
By Jesus’ command and commission, every Christ-follower is completely loved to live for more Jesus in the world. LifePoint will leave a legacy of more Jesus as we multiply love and truth in everyday moments through the gospel.
