18-0325: Christians are chosen by God to make an eternal, Kingdom impact in the world by loving one another. Once Jesus teaches the disciples to abide in Him and how that sources their life, he then shows why abide is essential. He repeats his new command, in 15:12 from 13:34, then adds a phrase to it. In this way he establishes what Pastor Lane titles the Principle of Supreme Love. This principle shows how when a Christian remains in God’s love, God works in and on their life to work through their life in the world. From this foundational principle of supreme love, Pastor Lane then shares three distinct traits that every Christ-follower bears as they are conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.
