The Words of Life John 6:60-71

17_0226: Jesus is the Word that gives eternal life by the Spirit when we believe in Him. Following a hard teaching, Jesus and the disciples confront a very difficult situation. With all the momentum that had been building in the crowd to this point, a sudden turn would take place in these verses. John 6:66 records, “After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him.” When unbelief blooms in its full measure, apostasy occurs. Jesus knew it was not the teaching that was hard, but the hearts of people. He confronts their hardness with a defining moment, both for them and especially for the Twelve, to show what occurs when unbelief is left to remain in the heart. In this message, Pastor Lane presents three questions to diagnose unbelief in the heart, help one discern how it manifests itself through five false commitments, and then strengthens those who truly believe.
