Adore Him: humble obedience Matthew 1:18-25

16_1218: Jesus is God’s Savior worthy of our adoration thru humble obedience. The gospel of Matthew records the birth narrative of Jesus with the announcement to Joseph. The situation with Mary’s pregnancy created difficulty for Joseph. He loved God and wanted to honor Mary. Joseph had to humble himself to listen to God when the angel spoke to him, and that is what he did. He humbled himself to listen to God, and obey that he might adore Him. Humbling self to listen to God, especially in hard times, is always worth whatever it demands from us because it tells God, “I adore you”. At Christmas as we celebrate the birth of Jesus our Savior, we adore Him for who He is and what He has done for us. But the means through which we adore Him mirrors the means through which He has come to us. How can we celebrate Christmas without humbling ourselves before God, when Christmas celebrates His incarnation, the humility of God become man? Baby Jesus born in the manger reminds us, humility brought the Savior to us, and leads us to the Savior. In this message Pastor Lane shares three ways humility enables us to adore God by listening to obey. May this message help and encourage you.
