16_1002: The call of Christ leads people to become His followers that make more Christ-followers. Jesus models from the beginning of His ministry what He commissions his followers to do after His ascension, make more real Christ-followers. In this message Pastor Lane identifies the first two essentials of the call of a real Christ-follower. Every person who follows Jesus must answer His question, “what are you seeking?”. Believing in Jesus leads to moments of discovery for life change where a follower must count the cost of following Him. In these moments we can understand the relationship of discipleship with salvation; how discipleship adjusts our life by spiritual calculations to re-orient our lives in accordance with Jesus’ salvation. Discipleship rectifies what salvation clarifies; “I am His, and He is mine.” This process is known as progressive sanctification. Following Jesus will cost you everything. Pastor Lane also provides a brief explanation of LifePoint’s practice of believer’s baptism. May this message bring hope and help for you, as you experience Jesus’ redeeming power at work.
