Answered prayer. Exciting news!

Dear LifePoint family,

I have great news.  As of July 1, 2014, LifePoint Church no longer owns our old facility.  We sold the facility to Life’s Journey Church, a newer church plant in Ozark.  This is great news for LifePoint Church as an answer to prayer, a relief on resources and help for future development.

LifePoint initially leased the facility and renovated it to launch public services.  At the end of our first year we purchased the facility which enabled us to save money.  We listed the building to sell when we relocated but were unable to find a buyer due to a flat real estate market.  A church plant approached us to lease the facility.  They’ve used the building for services and ministries for several years now.  In the past few months Life’s Journey Church began to sub-lease space as well, so two churches shared the space.  As the lease neared its end Life’s Journey Church approached us about the possibility of purchasing the facility.  We reached an agreeable price and gladly sold them the facility.  We will share a complete financial report on the sale at our next Night of Worship.

Three reasons explain why this is great news for LifePoint Church.  First, our prayer has been answered.  The old facility provided a great first place for LifePoint to launch mission and ministry.  We initially projected that it would serve as a five year location.  After five and a half years we relocated to our current location.  We are very thankful for the opportunities a permanent facility provided us from the beginning.  We are thankful that the facility will continue to provide a place for Gospel ministry in our city.

Second, selling the facility creates a relief on resources.  LifePoint held a mortgage on the facility.  There was no immediate demand on budget because lease payments covered the expense.  However, we no longer have to consume resources with maintenance, repairs, mortgage or strategy for facility use.  This is a great blessing.

Third, we realized some equity by the sale of the building.  This money provides LifePoint with a great blessing and help.  The Elders and Board of Directors are currently in discussion with best ways to use the monies.  We will share some of these potential ideas at our next meeting in late July.

For now, let us together thank the Lord for his merciful and gracious provision.  He is leading LifePoint in great ways and all for His glory.  May we remain faithful to seek His will, direction and leading as we strive to follow Him by faith in the days to come.

because Jesus lives…
